Klára Laurenčíková currently works at the Ministry of Health as a professional guarantor of the children's mental health agenda. She leads the Czech Society for Inclusive Education and is an external lecturer at the Department of Special Education, Charles University. She is the chairwoman of the Government Committee for Rights of the Child, a member of the Government Council for Human Rights, a member of the Committee for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, and a member of the think tank Education 21 of Charles University. She co-founded the Good start initiative (iniciativa Dobrý start), which seeks to change the system to help children at risk in the Czech Republic. In 2019, she was awarded by the Olga Havel Foundation for promoting the quality and openness of education systems, and in 2016, she became an Ashoka Fellow lifelong member of the global network of social innovators.
