Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a machine's ability to display human-like capabilities such as reasoning, learning, planning and creativity. We are still a long way, however, from the sophisticated cyborgs depicted in the Terminator films. AI goes so much further than just recommending a book or filtering emails. As digital technology is embedded into workplaces, it can unsettle workers, as technologies including artificial intelligence and automation are able to replicate elements of jobs. According to McKinsey & Company, 2.4 million current jobs in the Czech Republic can be automated using existing technologies. Furthermore, up to 1.1 million jobs in Czechia will be automatized by 2030. DIgitalization will change our lives by improving healthcare, increasing farming efficiency, contributing to climate change mitigation and in many other ways that we can only begin to imagine. Over the years, AI has also forayed into many walks of our lives such as: transportation, education and manufacturing.
AI is becoming the most appropriate choice for both SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and large-scale enterprises. While large-scale enterprises have long begun using new technologies like machine learning and AI to streamline their business processes, SMEs are still trying to understand if the AI technology holds any solution for them. AI can affect and benefit SMEs in two ways: by altering their business environment, byeasing the conditions under which they do business, or by enabling them to change their business models and practices, which could ultimately allow them to increase productivity and outreach and scale-up. These are some examples of the fields where AI can support the SME owners to enhance their business: Enhancing Marketing, Supporting Salespeople, Providing Better Customer Engagement, Supporting Competitive Intelligence, Strengthening Cybersecurity, Embedding with CRM, Chatbots, Recruitment, Banking.
